Personal Development

Program Goals

The primary goal of the personal development component of CHAMPS/Life Skills program is to support the development of a well-balanced life style for student-athletes by providing opportunities to learn critical "life skills" that will benefit them both in the present and the future. Seminars are offered throughout the year, focusing on various topics such as motivation, burn out, leadership and drug and alcohol abuse. These topics are selected by the CHAMPS/Life Skills staff through results from surveys administered to coaches and student-athletes assessing their personal development needs.
