Tennessee basketball has a long and storied history from Pat Head Summit's six national championship Lady Vol teams to successful men's teams featuring Vol greats such as Bernard King, Ernie Grunfeld and Allan Houston. Tennessee supporters have come to expect both teams to compete for SEC championships and advance to the NCAA Tournament. To continue this great tradition, the UT Athletic Departments have put together a strategic plan to strengthen both programs including the construction of Tennessee's basketball practice facility, Pratt Pavilion, and the renovation of Thompson-Boling Arena.
